The post Jabra launched most advanced premium wireless Elite 8 Active earbuds appeared first on TGH Technology and Business Portal/Blog.

]]>
Jabra, a world leader in personal sound and hybrid work solutions, recently launched two new premium models, expanding the top end line-up of their Elite true wireless earbuds range, they are the Jabra Elite 8 Active, tested to be the world’s toughest earbuds * and the Jabra Elite 10, the most advanced earbuds by Jabra for work and life with clear calls, all-day comfort, and optimised to deliver a more immersive Dolby Atmos experience through Dolby Head Tracking.

In this article, I would be sharing more information on the Jabra Elite 8 Active earbuds, and I would share more information on the Jabra Elite 10 in another separate article.

Jabra Elite 8 Active – World’s toughest earbuds *

Jabra Elite 8 Active will set a new standard for durability and fit. For those who are into running and other sports, this is the true wireless earbuds for you, built for much more than running or sports, they are designed to be durable enough for users regardless of what they choose to do and whatever life takes them.

Pass all required tests for US Military Standard for Ruggedised Electronics (810H)

The Jabra Elite 8 Active earbuds pass all the the required tests for US Military Standard for Ruggedised Electronics (810H). That covers everything from humidity, high temperature to rain and altitude. They are completely watertight when submerged up to 1.5m. The Elite 8 Active is IP68 rated, meaning that they are fully dust and waterproof, whilst the charging case is IP54 rated to be dust and splash proof.

In addition, the Elite 8 Active is put through their paces with Highly Accelerated Corrosion Testing (HACT). This requires the earbuds to pass 11 full cycles of testing, including enduring 2 hours in 40°C temperatures with 93% humidity, going through a 15-minute splash test in salt water, and surviving a 15-minute 40°C heat drying test, to successfully prove their anti-corrosion credentials. All of this whilst staying secure in the ear with the improved grip provided by Jabra ShakeGrip™ technology.

Tough yet aesthetically beautiful and incredible sound

The Jabra Elite 8 Active is proud that they are tough, yet they don’t compromise on sound quality and aesthetics. Thanks to Dolby Audio, which delivers lifelike, clear sound for a longer and comfortable listening experience, that can fuel your sporting lifestyle workouts.

The Adaptive Hybrid Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) automatically optimizes the ANC performance to the environment you’re in. Wind Neutralizing HearThrough™ technology also muffles any wind interference without blocking out traffic, ensuring safety without compromising on steady sound.

The Jabra Elite 8 Active is powered by 6-mic call technology and wind noise protecting mesh, stable smartwatch connectivity**, Google Assistant, Fast Pair, Swift Pair and Spotify Tap, battery life for up to 8 hours (32hours with a case), these earbuds are just as good for working as for working out.

Calum MacDougall, SVP at Jabra, said, “Jabra has been successful by identifying user needs and then applying our unique audio engineering capabilities to meet those needs. For Elite 10, we focused on comfort and calls and music performance to meet the need for all day use from music to meetings. For Elite 8 Active, we meet the need for users to be confident to use their earbuds, wherever they are, from work to work-out.”

Ashim Mathur, Vice President, APAC Marketing, Dolby Laboratories said “We are thrilled to work with Jabra to launch Jabra Elite 8 featuring Dolby Audio and Jabra Elite 10 with Dolby Head Tracking, delivering incredible audio experiences to consumers in Singapore.”

Key features of the Jabra Elite 8 Active

 • IP68 rated dustproof, watertight, sweatproof and 1m drop-resistant earbuds, and an IP54 rated dust and splash proof case
 • Crystal clear sound and added dimensionality with Dolby Audio
 • Jabra ShakeGripTM technology for secure fit in a wing-free, sleek design
 • Adaptive Hybrid ANC auto-filters background noise
 • Wind Neutralizing HearThroughTM for indoor and outdoor activities
 • 6-mic call technology with wind noise protecting mesh
 • 6mm speakers
 • Up to 8-hours battery life and up to 32-hours with case (ANC on)
 • Stable Smartwatch connectivity**
 • Google Assistant, Fast Pair, Swift Pair & Spotify Tap playback
 • Bluetooth Multipoint connection
 • Ready to support Bluetooth Low Energy (LE) & LC3, LC3plus codec with future firmware update

Short hands on experience with Jabra Elite 8 Active

At the recent Jabra media event launch in Singapore, I had the chance for a very short hands on experience with the Jabra Elite 8 Active at the event. I like the Jabra Elite 8 Active fitting and design on my ears, the Adaptive Hybrid Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) was good and solid. As for the sound quality with Dolby Audio, I would need more time to test it out when the review unit is available.

My current gut feel is that this would be a very ideal (and timely) upgrade from my current Jabra earbuds, the Elite 85t.

Motorsports and racing fans/enthusiasts, especially Honda Racing fans, take note! Casio, an internationally renowned watch brand, maybe known for its toughness, they are also a watch with a spirit of racing pulsing through its DNA. With a respect for speed and technological feats of racing, Casio is proud to introduce the Casio EDIFICE SOSPENSIONE Honda Racing Red Edition model in collaboration with Honda Racing to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Suzuka Circuit.

Year 2022 marks the 60th anniversary since the construction of the Suzuka Circuit by Honda Motor Limited in 1962. This motorsport race track circuit is 5.807km long, located in Ino, Suzuka City, that was first designed as a Honda test track featuring an iconic figure of 8 layout with a 1.2km long back straight passing over the front section by means of an overpass. Suzuka Circuit is one of the only two FIA Grade 1 licensed track to have a figure of 8 layout, the other one being the Fiorano Circuit in Italy.

For F1 fans and drivers, Suzuka Circuit has openly touted by them as one of the most enjoyable, it’s also one of the oldest remaining tracks of the Formula One World Championship and it has a long history of races as venue of the Japanese Grand Prix since 1987. Its traditional role as one of the last Grand Prix of the season means numerous world championships have been decided at this track. Four years consecutively in its early history, Suzuka Circuit saw the world championship being decided. This include the 1988 championship, which went to Ayrton Senna, the controversial 1989 championship, which went to Alain Prost, and the 1990 and 1991 world championships, which both went to Senna.

Casio EDIFICE SOSPENSIONE Honda Racing Red Edition

The Casio EDIFICE SOSPENSIONE Honda Racing Red Edition model is infused with Honda Racing’s spirit of racing in all aspects. The X-frame of the dial is painted with the same paint used in the Honda red badge, which symbolises the racing spirit of Honda and can only be seen on Honda racing cars such as the RA271 and the Type R commercial vehicles.

The HRC brand logo is featured prominently on the dial of the watch, while the Honda logo and the Honda Racing logo are engraved on to the case, band ring and back cover. The back cover is also dressed with the engraving of a logo celebrating the 60th Anniversary of the Suzuka Circuit.

This Casio EDIFICE SOSPENSIONE Honda Racing Red Edition model is using the EQB-2000 as the base, which was inspired by the double-wishbone suspension used in racing cars, and features Honda NSX GT3 motif with red accents on a black background. The band of it is made from the material Alcantara, which a synthetic material known for its durability and comfort and used for the interior of Honda’s Type R cars.

The Regular Season of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Singapore Season 4 (MPL SG S4) has ended recently, with RSG SG making a stunning clean sweep. The Season 3 Champions proved their mettle once again by besting all of the other teams, winning 2-0 in each best-of-three match and they only drop a single game in its match against Stellark. Now MPL SG Season 4 goes into the next phase, it is now Playoffs time, taking place from 7th to 9th October 2022 at Tampunes Hub. The MPL SG S4 Playoffs will be open to the public. Eight of the best teams in Singapore will fight it out for the coveted title of MPL SG S4 Champion and a spot at the M4 World Championships taking place in Jakarta from 1st to 15th January 2023.

In a repeat of last season’s standings, the champions reigned at the top, followed by fierce rivals Slate in 2nd place. Slate is the successor to perennial favourites EVOS SG, as it features the manager, the captain, and the majority of players from the now-defunct team. RSG SG won 2-0 and went on to beat Stellark SG (formerly Team Oldman) 2-1 in their final match.

As for the 3rd and 4th places, they are Revival (formerly ALMGHTY) and Team SMG, known as singer JJ Lin’s team. Both teams have improved significantly from their bottom 3 finishes last season, they will be joining RSG SG and Slate as the seeded teams in the Upper Bracket of the Playoffs.

Stellark SG is the sole new team for this season with an older-than-average squad, they showed that veterans were still highly competitive, finishing a respectable fifth in the table.

Jaime Cruz, Esports Lead at MOONTON Games said: “Season 4 has given us its fair share of memorable highlights: RSG SG and Slate Esports’ intense rivalry and outstanding run culminating in a table-deciding showdown on the last week of the Regular Season; and Team SMG and Revival’s drastic improvement to finish in the top half of the table. The hard work and efforts of the players have showcased the competitive spirit of MPL SG, and I’m excited for fans to witness even more thrilling matches in the Playoffs.”

Lee Jian Ming, Founder and Managing Director, Zenway Productions, said, “MLBB is the biggest game in Singapore’s esports scene and MPL SG S4 demonstrates just why with its irresistible blend of action and drama. Zenway Productions is proud to be able to bring all of these moments to fans around the world. The hybrid model where fans can watch the games in person or online is perfect for esports and we’re excited to bring this to the fans to enjoy.”

Top MPL SG athletes are frequently chosen to represent Singapore at regional esports competitions. Four players in the current MPL SG S4 represented Singapore at the recent 2021 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games held in Hanoi, Vietnam – ‘Seilah’, ‘Adammir’, and ‘JPL’ from Slate Esports and ‘Remaniscent’ from Team Flash – and secured a Bronze medal in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang category.

The eight teams now enter the double-elimination playoffs to compete for the title and the coveted lion’s share of the SGD 100,000 prize pool. The winner will also represent Singapore at the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang World Championship (M4), which will be held in Jakarta, Indonesia, from 1-15 January 2023. The M4 is the most prestigious title on the MPL calendar, where 16 of the world’s best MLBB teams will be competing for the title of World Champion, and the lion’s share of the USD 800,000 prize money.

Singtel welcomes F1 to Singapore as the official network partner of Grand Prix Season Singapore 2022 (GPSS 2022), powering the experiences and festivities along Orchard Road and Clarke Quay with 5G. With Singtel’s nationwide 5G coverage, F1 race spectators, visitors to the various MICE events coinciding with Singapore GP, locals and tourists alike will be able to experience the high-speed connectivity and ultra-low latency of Singtel’s 5G network from anywhere on the island.

Singapore is the first country to be fully covered by standalone 5G network, Singtel is taking the 5G experience to the next level at GPSS 2022 and F1. In a world’s first, Singtel will be applying the most advanced form of network slicing technology to support its digital app marketplace, CAST. With Sports Plus on Singtel CAST, race fans will be able to catch the entire high-velocity night race from wherever they are, even around the high traffic areas of the circuit, where over 250,000 spectators are expected, due to the dedicated capacity being allocated to the service.

Ms Anna Yip, CEO of Consumer Singapore, Singtel, said, “We’re extremely excited and honoured to be the official network partner for the upcoming Grand Prix season. This is also why we raced to complete our nationwide standalone 5G coverage in July, 3 years ahead of schedule, in time for Singapore’s National Day and now F1. As the first major international event held here since travel restrictions lifted, this race is significant as it marks Singapore’s comeback and demonstrates the potential of 5G to drive innovation and unlock new digital use cases that can help boost the nation’s recovery. Our CAST app gives race fans full visibility of the track action by enabling high-definition content streaming while locals and tourists can enjoy other digital experiences from making video calls, augmented reality gaming and more with 5G – bringing greater fun to the festivities.”

With Sports Plus on Singtel CAST at S$9.90 for the week, customers can also enjoy the race on their 5G mobile devices which will offer an enhanced lag-free, high-speed streaming experience. If you like to find out more about Singtel CAST and Sports Plus, please visit cast.singtel.com.

Immersive experiences beyond the track

In addition to having the fastest and most extensive 5G network in Singapore, delivering 5G speeds of up to 1.2Gbps, and spanning more than 1,300 outdoor and 400 in-building locations, as well as underground, Singtel is bringing more 5G experiences beyond the Marina Bay area.

 • The Singtel 5G Experience booth, open daily from 11am to 10pm in front of Ngee Ann City from 23 September to 2 October, will include an immersive 3D augmented reality race simulator that enables users to feel like their favourite F1 drivers, showcasing the high-speed, ultra-low latency advantages of 5G. The first 100 visitors to the booth who share a photo of their experience on their social platforms with the hashtag #Singtel5GEverywhere stand to walk away with exclusive 5G merchandise.
 • The Singtel 5G network will also be powering the live broadcasts from the Mediacorp roadshow, for the first time, on Orchard Road via 5G SIM cards instead of local area network cables or WiFi, ensuring smooth, ultra-low latency transmission of their content. Visitors can catch their favourite Mediacorp DJs and artistes such as Justin Ang, Vernetta Lopez, Dennis Chew, Qi Yuwu and many more, hosting games and giving away premiums on site or via their online radio app.
 • Over at *SCAPE, Singtel 5G will be powering the Teleios Next-Gen Racing Simulators which feature actual training scenarios used by F1 drivers for users to try their hand at.

Singtel customers can also enjoy exclusive perks at the precinct activations, such as:

 • Up to 15% discount off sustainability workshops held at *SCAPE, including guided workshops on figurine making and slime making

The post Ducati and Lenovo Continue Partnership in new MotoGP Season. appeared first on TGH Technology and Business Portal/Blog.

The role and importance of technology in the motorsports industry can never be underestimated in recent years. From the backend technology to the actual motorsports action, how much has technology play a key role in these areas? In the MotoGP world, we can see it in the Ducati Lenovo Team. In 2021, they ended with the victory of the MotoGP Constructors’ World Title for the second year in a row. In 2022, Ducati and Lenovo continue their partnership in the new MotoGP season, Ducati Lenovo Team is ready for a new season, in which technology will play an increasingly crucial role.

Lenovo’s technology partnership with Ducati started in 2018, Lenovo has helped Ducati team innovate and improve on-track performance. Innovation, speed and security is at the heart of this evolution. Enabled by a wide range of smarter solutions, Lenovo’s data analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), and smart collaboration continue to drive improvements and help the team to accelerate simulations and real-time data analysis, constantly transferring technology between the racing world and Ducati’s street bikes.

The first goal for the 2022 season is to complete the Remote Garage project, which allows engineers to receive data in real time and to interact with the garage and bikes while working remotely. Moreover, Ducati and Lenovo are committed to improving video conferencing both in the headquarters and in the garage. The aim is to better connect the virtual teams for successful collaboration, even from miles away.

“2021 was an important year for the Ducati Lenovo Team. We have strengthened our technology partnership – paving the way for bolder innovation in the new hybrid working world. We are proud to collaborate with Ducati, who share our core values of speed, dedication, team spirit and a focus on results. In line with our mission to enable intelligent transformation, we will continue to invest and innovate with Ducati to achieve increasingly ambitious goals in the fast-evolving industry of motorsports,” commented Luca Rossi, President of Intelligent Devices Group at Lenovo.

“To be competitive and achieve the best results, on and off the track, it is essential to have a clear idea of the central role of digital innovation and to rely on the support of the best partners. Thanks to the collaboration with Lenovo, we have accomplished important goals, such as accelerating data collection and analysis, thus speeding up the decision-making process. This is how we brought to circuits worldwide the bike that won the MotoGP Constructors’ World Title last season for the second year in a row,” said Claudio Domenicali, Ducati CEO. “Thanks to a passion for technological innovation that we share with Lenovo, we will continue moving forward in this direction, exploring tech solutions that will achieve even better results on the track, in serial production, and in corporate infrastructures.”

Lenovo Computing Power at Anytime, Anywhere

Lenovo has supported Ducati’s engineers and designers in the innovation of racing and street bikes since 2018, helping the company to reach maximum performance and enhanced levels of security.

Using High Performance Computing technology, based on Lenovo ThinkSystem SD530, SR630 and SR650 servers, Ducati has been able to simplify and accelerate data analysis concerning aerodynamics, fluid dynamics and stress tests. The improved computing power has allowed the company to obtain data and information in a third of the computation time and run almost twice as many simulations at the same time – making it easier for engineers to understand how the bikes will react to various weather conditions and continuously improve on track performance. In addition, Lenovo infrastructure grants high standards of data protection and has allowed Ducati to minimize the risk of dangerous and expensive downtimes.

Ducati has adopted the ThinkSystem SE350 edge server to boost connectivity and advanced real-time analytics, even in the most challenging environments. Lenovo’s server boasts a high computing power in an extremely small, versatile and easily portable device, bringing compute capabilities and AI features wherever you need them. Designed and built with the unique requirements of the Edge in mind, ThinkSystem SE350 can operate effectively in any location, even in extreme environments: from the Malaysian humidity, which could reach 90%, to the dry heat and the sand of Qatar. ThinkSystem SE350 allows engineers to manage in real time, wherever they are, about 15GB of data for each bike, and to produce customized insights for each rider that can be leveraged to take fast, well-informed decisions. Finally, the security tools integrated in the device allow automatic data encryption in case of tampering, helping to protect Ducati’s intellectual property and prevent data leaks.

Collaboration, productivity and mobility at its core

Ducati has deployed a new virtual desktop infrastructure, built in partnership with Lenovo. Over 250 2D and 3D virtual desktops are used across the organization from the R&D department to the garage. Ducati is benefiting from increased productivity as users can connect to their workstation whenever they want, wherever they are and from any device. Virtual desktops also help to simplify IT management and maintenance, to improve data protection and business continuity, as well as to optimize resources and allow professionals to focus on higher value-added tasks. Furthermore, thanks to the possibility of working on the move, Ducati designers can remotely collaborate in real time with the development team and the test rider during test phases, making changes to the design of the bike or of a single component based on the feedback received, reducing production times.

Everyone across the Ducati team – from managers, engineers, and riders – rely on Lenovo tablets, PCs and workstations to achieve the highest levels of collaboration, power and speed. Technicians use the Lenovo ThinkPad P1 mobile workstation, to analyze data coming from the bikes’ sensors in minutes and to study the lap statistics, compare them and optimize the bike setup.

Top management, on the other hand, rely on the innovative ThinkPad X1 Fold foldable PC to enjoy maximum productivity and mobility, whereas designers can count on the power of Lenovo workstations, including the ThinkPad P Series, for design and development using CAD software.

Driving towards an augmented future

Together, Ducati and Lenovo have big plans for the future. The two companies are already looking at how they can harness AI, machine learning and augmented reality to drive even greater levels of innovation in MotoGP. Reproducing the bike and its components virtually, in full size in a real context, will represent a differentiating factor accelerating future R&D, testing and maintenance, as well as of after-sales support for street bikes.
