Gardens By The Bay, it’s an iconic landmark and destination in Singapore. I was covering and photographing Gardens By The Bay in 2011 during a special preview<\/a> before it was opened to the public in 2012. During the year 2012, I was glad and honoured to be involved again in another round of special preview of Gardens By The Bay<\/a> whereby\u00a0I was invited by Marina Bay Division, to have a preview of the Gardens By The Bay that will be opened to the public in June 2012 and photographing the beauty and lush greenery of the Gardens By The Bay, that we can share with our readers and some of our photography works can be selected by National Parks Singapore, Gardens By The Bay and Marina Bay Singapore , for a roving photography exhibition at Far East Organization Malls around Singapore before their final destination to coincide with the official opening of Gardens By The Bay.<\/p>\n

I was very honoured that National Parks Singapore, Gardens By The Bay and Marina Bay Singapore, selected one of my entries to be part of roving photography exhibition around Singapore, at Far East Organization shopping malls. When Gardens By The Bay was officially opened to the public<\/a>, I was part of the wonderful event to photograph and share my stories with my readers. The Gardens By The Bay was very popular with local and international visitors, with the vast number of photographs taken at Gardens By The Bay appearing on social media platforms. Singapore’s Gardens By The Bay was beaming with pride when they were featured in New York Times Travel “The 46 Places to Go in 2013”<\/a>\u00a0!! Chinese Lunar New Year 2013 is coming up soon and Gardens By The Bay is welcoming it with great hospitality and fun! Spring is blooming at Gardens By The Bay ???????<\/b>! Today, I am going to share with you the exciting happenings, fun, events and activities during Spring Blooms at Gardens By The Bay!<\/p>\n

Celebrate Spring at Gardens by the Bay with a variety of festivities starting from end-January and through the month of February! To usher in the Year of the Snake, the\u00a0entire\u00a0Gardens will be decked out in elements of Lunar New Year,\u00a0with some\u00a011,888 festive blooms<\/b>,\u00a03-metre-long\u00a0snake topiaries<\/b>\u00a0made up of\u00a0kumquat\u00a0(citrus)\u00a0plants,\u00a0and\u00a0an extensive\u00a0display of\u00a0giant lanterns\u00a0spanning about half a kilometre\u00a0<\/b>from the Visitor Centre to the Flower Dome.<\/p>\n

Within the Flower Dome, visitors can look forward to yet another stunning transformation of the flower field. The\u00a0\u201cSpring Celebrations\u201d<\/b>\u00a0floral display<\/b>\u00a0will feature some\u00a08,000 colourful blooms<\/b>\u00a0including peonies, camellias, cherry blossoms, chrysanthemums, orchids, dahlias, azaleas, and more than 8 varieties of\u00a0kumquat<\/i>plants such as the Giant Golden Citrus and Buddha\u2019s Hand Citrus. Making their appearance too in the floral display will be a selection of\u00a0penjing<\/i>\u00a0(bonsai<\/i>)<\/b>\u00a0up to 200 years old, as well as\u00a0oriental pavilions<\/b>\u00a0nestled amidst the festive flora.<\/p>\n

Complementing the horticultural showcase will be a series of exciting programmes including\u00a0multi-disciplinary performances<\/b>\u00a0like Chinese opera, music and dance infused with martial arts;\u00a0craft activities<\/b>\u00a0like creating Lunar New Year origami ornaments and paper lanterns;\u00a0guided tours<\/b>\u00a0highlighting auspicious plants; and an\u00a0exhibition<\/b>\u00a0on the origins and customs of the Lunar New Year.<\/p>\n

For a prosperous start to the Lunar New Year,\u00a0limited edition of the Gardens by the Bay\u00a0hongbao<\/i>\u00a0(red packets)<\/b>\u00a0will be given away to visitors who spend a minimum of S$28 in a single receipt at our ticketing counters or retail shops (while stocks last!). What\u2019s more, just for the 15 days of the Lunar New Year,\u00a0local residents pay only 88% for tickets to the conservatories<\/b>!<\/p>\n
