People sometimes don’t tell the truth, telling the truth in any situation
(1) Makes you feel good
(2) Only way to earn trust and respect from others
It only takes an event or one lie to wipe out the trust, reputation and other qualities that you built up over the years to be be written off. The truth applies no matter who you are or what you are doing or where you do it, this is a universal application for all human beings.
Some famous quote on Truth
“When in doubt, tell the truth. Truth is the most valuable thing we have” – Mark Twain
“So absolutely good is truth, truth never hurts the teller” – Robert Browning
Telling the truth is not just a matter of conscience, it is also applied in the courts and the law, whereby we have to swear to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Failure to tell the truth under oath is a very serious offence. A lie can cost you many, it can cost you your friendships, businesses, trouble and loss of money. However, telling the truth might also cost you the friendship that you build or cash.
It’s not always easy to tell the truth, if you stick to the truth no matter what the cost, you can only become a WINNER and not a LOSER. In the learning about telling the truth, remember the 4 Things to Do and 4 Things Not to Do –
4 Things to Do
(1) Be true to yourself
(2) Think twice before speaking
(3) Think of another way to say it
(4) Temper truth with kindness
4 Things Not to Do
(1) Don’t exaggerate
(2) Don’t cover up for others
(3) Don’t ask others to cover up for you
(4) Don’t tell “little white lies”
Remember to tell the 4 Things to Do and 4 Things Not to Do when it comes to telling the TRUTH !
