Media Release : Jessica Alba to host Social Star Awards on 23rd May 2013 at Marina Bay Sands
International star and entrepreneur Jessica Alba will host the first-ever Social Star Awards, which will be live-streamed onYouTube from Marina Bay Sands in Singapore on May 23, 2013.
Alba, who previously hosted the MTV Movie Awards, along with a co-host to be announced shortly will preside over the ceremony, during which 12 awards will be presented to the most popular superstars in music, TV, film, sport and other global categories. The show will feature performances from Aerosmith, CeeLoGreen, PSY, Carly Rae Jepsen, Sky Blu and Blush and will feature some of the biggest stars of YouTube, the performers who have gone viral globally as they have been viewed, shared and re-tweeted around the world.
The Social Star Awards take place in the MasterCard® Theatres at Marina Bay Sands where guests including musicians, footballers, actors, and ‘The Connected” – local celebrities and socilaites – will assemble for a one-off night of breathtaking entertainment. The huge production will feature a bespoke set made entirely from high definition LED screens allowing the venue to become an interactive spectacle as awards are presented on the stage, and in social media throughout the course of the night. The set will showcase the acceptances and the congratulations from fans and supporters of the winners from around the globe. For the audience members lucky enough to get their hands on a ticket, the celebration will be a night to remember – a genuine “I was there” experience, as they live the moment that will be viewed everywhere as theawards are streamed on YouTube to smartphones, TV’s, consoles and laptops around the world.
