  • Tested by: Ishikawa Health Service Association
  • Test method: Plasmacluster air conditioners were operated in test spaces of 55 m³ (Plasmacluster 25000), and 31 m³ (Plasmacluster 7000). Airborne mold was measured with an air sampler.
  • Test result: 99% reduction in approx. 83 to 635 minutes in a testing space of approx. 31m3 to 55 m3.

Reducing Growth of Adhering Mold

  • Tested by: Japan Food Research Laboratories
  • Test method: Emission of Plasmacluster™ ions with vinyl chloride plate with adhering mold placed in a testing space. Comparison of mold growth area with reference to the JISZ2911 standard.
  • Test result: Limitation of growth after 8 days in a testing space of approx. 20m3

Suppressing the Activity of Airborne Viruses

  • Tested by: Pasteur Institute in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
  • Test method: According to Japan Electrical Manufacturer’s Association standards (JEM1467), levitate viruses in test space and releases Plasmacluster™ ions. Collect and measure virus removal rate in air.
  • Test result: 99% reduction after 18 minutes in an airtight testing space of approx. 25m3

Suppressing the Activity of Adhering Viruses

  • Tested by: Shokukanken Inc.
  • Test method: A gauze cloth with virus attached is suspended in the test space, and Plasmacluster™ ions are released. After a certain period of time, collect the gauze cloth and measure the virus removal rate.
  • Test result: 99% reduction in approximately 7.5 to 10 hours in an airtight testing space of approx. 25m3

Suppressing the Activity of Airborne Bacteria

  • Tested by: Japan Food Research Laboratories
  • Test method: A performance evaluation test was conducted according to voluntary standards (HD-131) of the Japan Electrical Manufacturers’ Association and releasing Plasmacluster™ ions. Collect and measure the removal rate in air flow.
  • Test result: 99% reduction in approximately 14 minutes in a testing space of approx. 25m3

Suppressing the Activity of Airborne Allergens from Dust Mite Faeces and Remains

  • Tested by: ITEA Inc.
  • Test method: levitate mite allergen in the test room, releasing Plasmacluster™ ions, and by ELISA technique, to measure the suppression rate of allergic substances in air at the fixed point of about 70mm from the outlet of the ion generator.
  • Test result: 99% reduction in approximately 14 minutes in a testing space of approx. 25m3

Reducing Static Electricity

  • Tested by: Sharp
  • Test method: Measurement of time required for a 5 kV charged metal sensing plate to decrease to 0.5kV when irradiated with Plasmacluster™ ions (tested with reference to JIS TR C 0027-1)
  • Test result: 5kV declines to 0.5kV in approximately 80 seconds in a testing space of approximately 55m3.

Breakdown and Elimination of Clinging Odours

  • Tested by: Sharp
  • Test method: The effectiveness of deodorizing a cloth swatch impregnated with cigarette odour components and irradiated with Plasmacluster™ ions was evaluated by using the six-level odour intensity indication method.
  • Test result: Breakdown and elimination in approximately after 55 minutes in a testing space of approximately 41m3.
