Accedo was in Singapore recently, they were at ConnecTechAsia 2019, part of the BroadcastAsia exhibition and they had a booth there, exhibiting and showcasing their services. Accedo is video experience pioneer through their experience centric video solutions to customers.
Through their pr agency, I was informed about Accedo coming to ConnecTechAsia 2019. They had recently launched their sports solution, that enables sports service providers to launch OTT and Direct-to-Consumer services featuring Live, Catch Up and On Demand video to all major platforms. Their sports solution got me interested to know and find out more about their sports solution since I am a sports fan, watching football, F1, rugby, basketball etc.
OTT and Direct-to-Consumer services are getting bigger and more traction in the market. Being a sports tv fan, I had an interesting and informative chat with Accedo on their sports solution, would sports organisations change their way of doing business by going direct to customers without pay tv providers. The changes to this market space for sports tv channels going direct to consumers might be possible in the years, we have to observe and wait for the market changes when existing contracts between sports organisations and pay tv providers expire. When the time comes, sports channels might be able to go direct to customers through OTT and Direct-to-Consumer services such as the Accedo sports solution.
There was a demonstration on their sports solution on the big monitor at their booth, it’s on football! Customers like me would like to view more information on teams, players and statistics along with watching the football matches.
OTT and Direct-to-Consumer services are definitely on the rise, would that mean that it would be cheaper in cost for customers when they choose OTT and Direct-to-Consumer, that remains to be seen in the near future. Customers would definitely be able to choose and customise their own tv channels with the availability of OTT and Direct-to-Consumer services.
Would Accedo sports solution be the choice for OTT and Direct-to-Consumer solutions by various sports entities to provide sports channels to customers around the world? Personally, I think they would be a good choice!
