Celebrating Singapore’s 60th year (SG60) of independence, Singtel launched its annual National Day film – “Majulah Singapura” or Onward Singapore – This Singtel National Day 2025 film pays tribute to SG60 progress, titled after Singapore’s national anthem and a rallying cry to all citizens to move forward into the future together.
SG60 years of change and growth
The film showcases how much Singapore’s iconic National Day Parade (NDP) has changed over the six short decades, and in doing so – illustrates how far Singapore and its people have progressed, and also how communications technology has been instrumental in driving this change, progress and growth of Singapore.

Featuring Singtel Group CEO Mr Yuen Kuan Moon, who tells the story of this journey, this film traces the NDP beginnings in 1966 to present day. Singtel is a key communications technology provider of the event, Singtel’s dedicated 5G+ mobile network technology is ensuring seamless, ultra-fast connectivity and live-streaming for attendees.
This film also shows how this same 5G+ network is being tapped to transform the country’s ports and hospitals to sectors such as advanced manufacturing, positioning Singapore as a leading digital nation and a sandbox for global innovation.

From Past to Present
Singtel National Day 2025 film is a journey from past to present, it’s a personal reflection on Singapore’s development and opens with Mr Yuen at City Hall, where Singaporeans celebrated their first NDP in 1966. Viewers are brought back in time through nostalgic memories of archival black and white footage of the NDP, including scenes of Singapore’s first President Mr Yusof Ishak and founding Prime Minister Mr Lee Kuan Yew, as well as Singaporeans lining the streets to witness Singapore’s history in the making.


This film then transitions into present day NDP, how has attendees in today’s era mark and celebrate NDP, what are the differences and changes? Participants now record and livestream the NDP celebrations through their mobile devices, enabling them to share the moment with family, loved ones, friends and others from around the world. The changes from past to present is part of a larger narrative on capturing Singapore’s technological advancements, from analogue systems to today’s digital technologies, from copper to fibre and from 3G to 5G mobile networks.

Singtel supporting NDP for over three decades
Singtel has been supporting NDP for over three decades with sponsored network services and has fielded Singtel marching contingents such as those featured in the film since 1976.
