On Tuesday 19th February, I was waiting to meet my client at Jurong East Entertainment Centre and I was there early to settle some personal administrative matters. My matters finished earlier than the time planned aside and I decided to roam around and take a look.
There was an used and old books on display in the open compound inside and I happily walked around and taking a peek. There were many different types of books on display for sale at very discounted prices ! Being an avid book reader, I started digging and found a few wonderful books :
- Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert T. Kiyosaki
- Principle-Centred Leadership by Stephen R. Covey
- The Secrets of LIFE by Stuart Wilde
These 3 books cost me $21.50 and I even asked Jack Lan on his opinions on the personal development books that I managed to find. He gave his endorsement for Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert T. Kiyosaki. Jack was also the person who introduced me to Secrets of the Millionaire Mind by T. Harv Eker and I swore by the book and it helped me a lot recently.
Currently, my book list of personal development and leadership books for learning, teaching and mentoring are as follows:
- Think and Grow Rich – Napoleon Hill
- Secrets of the Millionaire Mind – T. Harv Eker
- Rich Dad Poor Dad – Robert T. Kiyosaki
- Principle-Centred Leadership by Stephen R. Covey
- The Secrets of LIFE by Stuart Wilde
Moving foward for my persona wordpress blog, I would be planning to add a few more personal development books to my book list and from my readings, understanding, analysis and application, I would share here with my readers.
By writing a chapter review of a book or linking to my life experiences with the lessons learned from the various personal development books, I am writing down my experiential experiences emotionally or physically, on my blog, reinforcing my thoughts and learning, marking it down in my learning curve and history.
Besides, this would create and bring my blog to a higher level, mentoring and sharing with people from all walks of life, on the virtues and need for changes, personal development and growth in a person, as a citizen and as a person destined to bring yourself to greater heights and achieve wonderful things not just for yourself, family but also for society around us and the whole wide world.
Let’s all learn and share the wonderful things in life !
