The common phrase “Time flies” never gets old and boring, it’s so surreal and in your face. Today on Tuesday 1st October 2024, we are now entering into Q4 2024, final quarter of Year 2024, the final sprint (IYKYK). Looking back at the Q3 2024, as well as the past three quarters, time flies in the blink of an eye. Taking the time off to think, write and publish a regular feature – Reflecting Q3 2024 and Plans for Q4 2024 (Technology | Business | Personal).
Technology
On my technology segment, I might not break down into consumer (B2C) and enterprise (B2B) technology in future reflections articles. They would most likely be written as separate paragraphs instead of two sub-categories.
On my consumer technology sector, it’s not so much or that many breaking news like before. In some aspects, consumer technology hasn’t have much breaking news or breakthroughs that would get end consumers excited.
As for enterprise technology sector, I am still working on the AI technology sector, the impacts, the good and bad, on different industries, also in-depth on my photography and creative business that I will be directly be impacted whether in big or small ways.
Technology writing/media coverage
I had been writing and sharing about my challenges and difficulties in maintaining my technology writing/media coverage. The physical and mental toll are real, along with a mix of procrastination and poor discipline in writing.
I promise to try my best, I still need to seek earning revenue from my main business, and hopefully some revenue from publishing on my TGH Technology and Business website.
Technology Reviews
I shared previously that I am back to doing reviews for technology gadgets, it felt good after slowing down in this segment for the past few years. Doing gadget reviews also coincide with my content creation/content creator journey too.
I would still have to pace myself and not take on too many gadgets to review at one time. However, there are times whereby some of the gadgets that I want to review would not be available, I just have to make do with it, and work with those brands/products that are available for review.

Business
A Slow Economy
We are facing a slow economy situation, it’s tough, budgets are cut (from marketing to PR), and retrenchment news are still ongoing (Sometimes you hear about them, sometimes you don’t). On top of that, prices are rising, costs are rising, small businesses and the general population are feeling the big squeeze.
Social Media Marketing/Content Creation/Content Creator
Content Creator/Content Creation – Areas that I have been working and building for a few years, concurrently with my photography, visual storytelling, videography and social media marketing. This would allow me to diversify my business and creative services that complement my commercial photography business.
My recent collaborations with fellow content creators that I know personally has allowed me to explore this further. I can get them to work together as my writer/content creator in some of my media events or even projects.
Personal
On a personal note, there are always something inside my mind. Sometimes, I do share more personal stuff, sometimes I can’t share more than what I have written and published.
Stressed Out, Mentally and Emotionally Drained
From running a small photography business setup in a challenging and difficult economy, rising costs, family matters, judgemental people/friends, difficult people/friends/customers etc. There are many things on my plate that I don’t share beyond writing down here or sharing on social media.
There are times whereby I am stressed out, mentally and emotionally drained.
I do need a good break.
Health and Personal Well-Being Comes First
A recent injury to my right knee cap (probably from hitting my knee cap against the corner of my camera dry cabinet below my home office work table), resulting in knee inflammation, a bit of pain, lots of aches and derailing my daily life.
It took me about a month to recover and get back to my normal self. The harsh reality and wake up call from this recovery phase is that I am no longer young, any injuries would take a bit more time to heal and recover. Therefore, I need to be more careful down the years, as toll/wear and tear on our bodies start to show.
Keeping a low profile whenever I can
From the Boomers to Gen Z, each generation is probably guilty in its own ways and styles of sharing on social media or “sometimes more like showing off” on different social media platforms (of their preferred choice).
Some might say I share a lot on social media (mostly cute cats, throwback photos and interesting events), however, there is a big difference between showing off on social media.
Although it is inevitable that when I am into visual storytelling, photography, content creation and social media marketing, it’s inevitable that I have to share, inevitably crossing the grey line of showing off sometimes.
Therefore, I keep a low profile whenever I can.
Plans for Q4 2024 (Technology | Business | Personal)
For the last quarter of Year 2024, I would continue to work hard and finish a difficult and challenging Year 2024 on a good note.
I would also take this Q4 2024 to have discussions with friends on potential business partnerships, and see how it goes from there. Some technology sectors that I would relook into again, are NFT and Web3.0, that I can do in Year 2025.
