The Force is Awakened in Star Wars - TGH Technology and Business Portal/Blog

The Force is strong again in Star Wars with the arrival of Star Wars VII : The Force Awakens on 17th December 2015 (for Singapore). I managed to watch The Force Awakens on 19th December 2015 and it invoked a lot of thoughts, feelings and emotions. I promised there will be no spoilers in this article and I am planning to write a more in-depth article about Star Wars VII : The Force Awakens at a later date, probably around 4 weeks after the release date of The Force Awakens movie.

Having grown up with Star Wars IV, V and VI as a young kid, I was mesmerised and followed Star Wars since that era. My biggest and most lasting impression would most likely be Star Wars V : The Empire Strikes Back. The Star Wars story followed on with the release of Star Wars I, II and III and among these 3 prequels, only Star Wars II : Attack of the Clones, caught my attention and impression.

With Star Wars IV, V, VI, followed by I, II, III, under my belt, it was filled with a lot of mixed feelings, anxiety, anticipation, expectations when Star Wars VII was announced. The trailers leading up to the release of Star Wars VII : The Force Awakens were feeding a lot of buzz and expectations too, among the Star Wars community worldwide. I was anxiously waiting too, how would it turn out?

I heard and read about some spoilers lurking around the internet and social media platforms. Some were teasing, some were close to being spoilers, a small number of spoilers though. Luckily, that didn’t spoilt me preparing to watch The Force Awakens, that propels my anxiety and expectations for the new Star Wars movie.

On 19th December, the time has come, the Force in me is awakened, not before waiting for 30 minutes of advertising and some other movie trailers before they officially started the Star Wars VII film rolling. I watched and observed carefully, making notes inside my brain and mind, on the similarities and differences, the plots and twists, the story line and flow. There were many different moments of emotions and thoughts, the smiles, the question marks, there is a clash of the Force inside me, nostalgic versus modern.

At the end of Star Wars VII : The Force Awakens, I smiled, I laughed, I teared. Although I had mixed feelings, some parts of the movie were great, some were just alright. There is something that I want to say, the lines by Han Solo and Chewie from the official Star Wars VII trailer “… Chewie, We Are Home …”

For me, as a Star Wars fan, the Force is Awakened again!

May The Force Be With You! Always!
